Love Shelbyville

Love Shelbyville

LOVE

Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. (Hebrews 13:13-14 ESV)

Every 4th Sunday we Love Shelbyville.

Instead of our usual gathering we “go outside” the walls of our church and serve in the community. Please invite your friends, family, community group members and plan on joining us!

We meet at Governor’s Square (198 Frankfort Rd) at 10am and GO from there.

Childcare will be provided for children ages birth-3 years old.  4 year olds-6th grade are encouraged to serve with their parents.

As you arrive, grab some coffee, chat with a new friend and get ready to serve:) There are MANY options of where/how to serve and multiple opportunities that are family friendly.

On the Lookout: Van Needed

A team of folks from CCC has been helping a refugee family resettle here in Kentucky. Recently, the family has asked if members of the team could teach them to drive. One gap in that is having a van for their family. The family is seeking to purchase a van for their needs. Would you pray for this? If you know of a van that might be a good fit, please contact Eric Allen at eric.allen@kybaptist.org.

Changing the Trajectory of a Life

Project Rebound here in Shelby County helps teens change the trajectory of their educational careers as well as the trajectory of their life. This year, they have re-organized their efforts and they need our help! One of the features of the re-organized, relocated programs is the desire for each student (approximately 20 at this time) to have a mentor. The expectation is that the mentor have contact with his/her mentee at least weekly during the school day. For more info, […]

YOU can help Pioneer Churches in Unreached Places

This summer, we shared a new initiative to parter with believers in Indonesia to see churches planted amongst unreached people! Our first team leaves to spend time with our new partners August 30! Financially, we are working to support several underground pastors through partial income support and the purchase of used bikes for transportation. We need $2280 to be fully funded for the first trip. (We’re already 83% of the way there!) Will you help pioneer the church amongst unreached […]

1,000 Ways to say THANK YOU

Are you ever paralyzed by options? I’d rather Katelyn tell me where we’re eating than have to think about my options. I’m always more satisfied when a waiter recommends their favorite dish than when I taste a little bit of everything on the buffet. The same thing can happen when I think about saying THANK YOU! What’s the best way to say THANK YOU? It can seem like there are 1,000 ways! A friend shared with me today – unexpressed […]
