Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. (God the Father) Genesis 1:1 & Matthew 28:19

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory. (God the Son) Matthew 1:22-23 & Hebrews 4:14-15

We believe in the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is made aware of sin and empowered to live a Godly life. (God the Holy Spirit) John 16:7-14

We believe the Bible is without error, the inspired and the authoritative Word of God for the Christian faith and living. (The Bible) Proverbs 30:52 Timothy 3:16

We believe sin separated humankind from God and left humanity in a fallen sinful condition. (The Fall of Humanity) Romans 3:23

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the only sufficient payment for their sin. (Salvation) Hebrews 9:22, John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 10:9 & 1 Timothy 2:3-6

We believe baptism is a celebration and act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in Jesus Christ.  Christ Community Church and its covenant members practice baptism by immersion and believe it to be the most consistent with scriptural teachings.  It provides a powerful testimony of death to self and a resurrection to a new life in Christ. (Baptism) Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 3:23, Acts 8:35-39, Romans 6:3-5, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Colossians 2:12

We believe in the establishment and autonomy of local churches as clearly taught and defined in the New Testament. (The Church) 2 Corinthians 8:23 Colossians 1:18

We believe in the resurrection of both those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe: those believing to eternal life with Christ and those unbelieving to eternal punishment in hell. (The Final Judgment) Romans 6:23
