Church Planting

In the fall of 2015, CCC's Pastor/Elders began asking questions about what was next. What happened when we filled up the gathering space at Governor's Square? Would we add gathering times? As God often does, he replaced our questions with a better question:

What if we sent more people than we could seat?

A lot of trial and error eventually led to the planting of a new church in the Midland neighborhood. In August of 2017, CCC Midland officially opened their doors with Bobby Carnes as the location Pastor. In 2019, Midland began working towards autonomy. In November 2019 they opened their doors as Midland Community Church and continue to be a faithful church in the Midland neighborhood while continuing to be a part of our family of churches working to see 1% of the region reached through new churches. We knew that one church plant was just the beginning of becoming a church that multiplies churches. The Lord had given us a vision to become a family of churches reproducing disciples, leaders, and churches for God’s glory and his mission!

That led us to seek the next church planting team. Throughout 2018, God began putting together a team of leaders in Henry County burdened to see the lost saved and to be a part of a healthy local church. Christ Community sent out a team with Caleb King leading them in September of 2019. They continue to work towards a public launch by making disciples and continuing to serve people and the community. Today, Christ Community is sold out for church planting. We often say, “Our best church planters are in the 5th grade!” We want to be raising up planters and missionaries from within. We also continually invite leaders seeking to plant churches to consider our church planting residency. Church planting residents enter a one year process where they engage with the multiple churches in the CCC family, get real ministry experience, and have space to prayerfully seek the vision and strategy for the church God is calling them to plant.
