Our Vision & Mission
To see people’s stories changed by Jesus one person at a time.
11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp. 12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. 13 Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. (Hebrews 13:11-14)
Jesus changes the end of people’s stories. He moves our eyes from the brokenness of this world to the wholeness we find in the city that is to come, heaven.
We join Jesus in changing people’s stories when we SEEK THE CITY that is to come: loving God, people, and community.
When we seek the city…
We seek to love God, who made our city and the city that is to come; the God who made us and who continually remakes us when we are broken.
We seek to love people in our city who aren’t like us knowing that every tribe, tongue and nation will be with us one day in the city that is to come.
We seek to love community in such a way that it begins to reflect, if even a little, the city that is to come, where no pain, suffering, or sin exists.
We seek the city that is to come by intentionally moving towards people and places that aren’t like us so as to reflect the picture of heaven where every nation, tribe, people, and language stand before Jesus.
As we engage one another in doing this, we become more like Christ, loving God, People, and Community. Seeking the City to come is both our mission and our strategy for making disciples.
