2024 Annual Meeting Recap

What a great night at our annual dinner meeting last night! Here's a quick recap of the meeting.

Tent-Dwellers

Hebrews 13:14 calls us to seek the city that is to come. And in Hebrews 11:8-10, it talks about how Abraham left his home and started living in tents to pursue this city whose "architect and builder is God.

Blake shared from Genesis 12:1-9 about 4 traits of tentdwellers learned from observing Abrahams life.

  1. Tent Dwellers leave convenience behind.

  2. Tent Dwellers are a blessing to whomever is around them.

  3. Tent Dwellers prioritize worship

  4. Tent Dwellers stay on mission

Joining Jesus

We celebrated 10 baptisms and a 19% growth in our average worship attendance this year! We also honored Torrey Smith and Collin Johnson for completing their terms as pastor/elders while encouraging members to make any recommendations they had for our pastor/elder and deacon teams.

Going Outside

2024 was the year Christ Community sent their first full-time international missionaries in Mike & Sarah Embry! They were 2 of the 48 people we sent on mission outside of Shelby County!

We mentioned several missional giving milestones including our first calendar year with over $100,000 in missions giving, returning missions giving to 20% of the budget in 2025, and being on the cusp of $1 million lifetime missions giving!

We also looked forward to several mission trips in 2025 as well as the Neighbors & Nations Conference with Nik & Ruth Ripken coming to Christ Community January 31-February 1! Get signed up today!

Make Disciples

We also celebrated Jerry & Terry Smitha who have maintained one of our greatest discipleship tools - our building - for the last decade. Jerry & Terry are retiring from that position at the end of 2024.

We celebrated the spiritual and numeric growth of our next gen ministries including a record 71 who attended summer camp!

We talked about continuing to make the shift from being disciples to disciplemakers by asking the question, Who is God sending you to disciple?

We asked everyone to complete a spiritual growth survey by the end of the year that helps both members and leaders reflect on areas of growth and strength as we seek to keep becoming who God created us to be. You can take that survey here.

2025 Budget

The budget proposed by the pastor/elders and budget team consisting of Ron Boyd, Phil Thurman, Cheryl Frerman, and Krysta Howell was passed with a 100% vote.
