Small People Serving a Big God

Join us this October in Community Kids! Do you ever stop and think about how big God must be? God created this whole world, all of the planets and stars in the sky . . . God is really big, infinitely big! Knowing God is so big can make us feel small and inconsequential. But the truth is, even though we are small, God has a big love for us and wants to use us to glorify Him in big ways.

As we study the story of Job, we will learn that God is bigger than our problems, He listens to our big feelings, and He sees the big picture. When we recognize that God is big and we are small, we are able to trust in Him so that He can use us in big ways.

Week 1: Job praised God even through his big sufferings. (Job 1:1; 2:1-10; Psalm 8)

Week 2: Job cried out to God when it all became too big for him to handle. (Job 23:1-7; Hebrews 4:15-16)

Week 3: God answered Job and shows the big difference between what God can do and what humans are able to do. (Job 38:1-7; 34-41; Isaiah 53:4-12)

Week 4: No problem is too big or too small for God, and He blessed Job in bigger ways than before. (Job 42:1-6; 10-17; Mark 10:46-52)

Week 5: We can serve God in a big way by serving others in small ways, just like Job’s friends. (Job 2:11-13; Psalm 146)

Our memory verse for this month is from Job 37:5: “God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways, he does great things beyond our understanding.”
