Top of Mind Monday

Let's just jump right in! Here's 5 things on my heart and mind as Monday gets us back to familiar rhythms..

Those we meet off Lanter Dr. God keeps on answering prayer! After church yesterday, a couple from CCC met some folks on Lanter Dr who needed assistance. God is giving us opportunities to pray for their family, help them through some tough times, and he even brought along someone else who was curious about church after having experienced some church hurt. Keep praying for the thousands who will cross Lanter Drive this week; and keep asking Jesus to make himself known! (2 Cor. 4:4)

The ladies who went to the IF Gathering. "I'm overflowing." "I'm still processing everything the Lord invested in me." "I'm excited about what God is doing." I've overheard those thoughts from ladies who went to the IF Gathering this past weekend, and I'm praying the Spirit would guard their hearts and minds as they follow through on all Jesus is cultivating in their hearts. May healing happen! May the mission move forward! May people be set free!

A burden for those who don't know Jesus. A ton of things in the life of our church right now just have me burdened for those who don't know Jesus. Will you ask God to give you the opportunity to share your life with one of them? I'm reminded of Galatians 6:2 where we are encouraged to bear one another's burdens. Often times, the first thing someone far from Jesus needs is someone who is willing to help them carry their burdens - it makes the idea of Jesus taking those burdens away much more understandable!

A hope that men in our church would continue to step into their roles as spiritual leaders in our homes and community. I was so encouraged by the guys who shared their story yesterday! Eric, Torrey, Matt, and Wes have my respect as men who love Jesus, lead their families, and aren't shy about their faith as they lead into the community. My hope is that a few years from now these guys and others in our church would have continued to disciple others to do the same. Can you imagine a neighborhood or community where every guy has willingly taken on the call to spiritually lead their homes and the community around them?!? I think I just got chills! Guys, if you're looking for a next step, mark April 12 on your calendar for a D-group interest night, or check out this opportunity to take a guys trip to The Gospel Coalition conference in September.

What a Beautiful Name it is! The powerful name of Jesus! I haven't sang like I sang on this song in quite a while! As thankful as I was for the band leading the song, I was thankful for the strong chorus of voices in the seats singing in my ears! There's nothing quite like having the gospel sang to you by a church full of voices! I'll close with the lyrics from that awesome bridge:

Death could not hold You

The veil tore before You

You silence the boast of sin and grave

The heavens are roaring

The praise of Your glory

For You are raised to life again

You have no rival

You have no equal

Now and forever God You reign

Yours is the kingdom

Yours is the glory

Yours is the Name above all names
