I want to be as passionate about sharing Jesus as so many of you are about serving him. Check out those pictures above! We've got overdue moms serving. We've got people getting soaked while making sure our schools are ready to welcome students. We've got the next generation working together to care for their neighbors... IN THE RAIN! I love how passionate our church family is about serving our neighbors here in Shelbyville!! And it makes me want to be just as passionate about sharing the name of Jesus with my lips! I'm reminded of that "next" verse in Hebrews 13..
"Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name." (Hebrews 13:15 CSB)
Don't let Love Shelbyville day be your only sacrifice this week. Get Jesus on your lips!

I love that kids summer camp memories are being attached to their faith in Jesus! 39 kids went to camp last week and had an AMAZING week! As I listened to Preston talk about camp, I was reminded that our kids summer camp memories are being attached to their faith in Jesus. When they think about those fun moments and memories, they'll also recall how God revealed himself to them in those moments. It was a powerful realization! Every summer, God changes kids lives at camp and impacts their generation for years to come. If I had one recommendation for next summer for your family.. GET YOUR KID TO CAMP!
But remember...
Moving forward isn't just for students. This coming weekend, all our students move up to their new grade levels in next gen programming. There's things all through Sunday for elementary-high school students culminating in the back to school bash from 5-7. If you've got school aged kids, don't miss it (You can usually win some prizes that include discounts to camp!). But moving forward in your faith isn't just for students. Don't buy the lie that "I'm good" or "the priority is my kids" or "as long as I'm saved that's all that matters." If you're not dead, God ain't done! He has more he wants to do in and through you to mold you into the eternal being he created you to be! So, you'll get to hear about the Community Groups that are restarting the week of August 11 and just a little bit about our series for this fall, "Kept Calm now Carry on." Which brings me to the last thing on my mind today..
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24. This powerful prayer at the end of the letter we're going to open together this fall is one I want to encourage you to commit to memory..
"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful. He will do it."
