Welcome new members!
We welcome Rhett Arrington, Matthew Robinson, & Aaron and Sydney Greenwell as new members at Christ Community! Each of them completed our "Be the Church" class and have practiced believer's baptism. More than that, they've all been engaged with the CCC family in a variety of other ways! We're excited to have them and look forward to joining Jesus in going out with them. Even more, there's several others from this last class who's next step is baptism! Excited to celebrate with them in the coming weeks.. If you're interested in becoming a member of Christ Community, you can start online and pencil our next in person class in on your calendar for Dec 1.
Congratulations, Matthew!
Yesterday was an even BIGGER day for Matthew as he graduated from the program at Awake! What a great accomplishment! Keep leaning on Jesus, brother!
The Honduras Team is Back!
Every report I've heard is that it was an INCREDIBLE week in San Pedro Sula last week! We're thankful to have our team back home and can't wait to hear about what God's doing in Honduras! Also.. a bit of a sneak peak for STUDENTS and their families: We're going back over spring break!
I'm often slow to believe.
Some Sundays, my heart is struggling to believe what my head knows to be true. Unfortunately, that can mean the words are coming out, but my heart is slow to believe that it actually applies to me.
I experienced that yesterday; and then experienced the Lord's incredible grace last night.
Our Community Group meets on Sunday night, and as one member of the group shared what God has taught him through 1 Thessalonians 5 I was overwhelmed with how I had stifled the Spirit in my own life.
I'm so thankful for that brother, but also for God's grace and patience to me. It's overwhelming - even on Monday!
Christ Community turns 14!
This Thursday, Christ Community officially turns 14! She's growing up on us! I'm as excited about this next year as I ever have been - the best is yet to come CCC! So let's celebrate this week! Thank God for CCC in your prayers this week. Reach out to someone from the church family who's invested in you or welcomed you in and thank them. You also might jot down some ways you can continue to live out the mission God has given us: Joining Jesus in Going Out to Make disciples
Our next series: All the Glory
Beginning October 20, we'll dive back into the gospel of Luke as we keep plodding through his gospel. We'll spend 5 weeks there between October 20 and Thanksgiving. As we look more closely at one leg of Jesus' journey to Jerusalem in Luke 17-18, we'll see Jesus revealing the glory of who he is - God's son - in some really cool ways!
As we see God's glory, it will challenge us to give him all the glory in our daily lives. Can't wait for God's Word to prepare us for the Thanksgiving season!
