Christ Community Church family!
I miss you! It’s the little things I miss the most. I miss the chance to pat you on the back and ask how your week went. I miss a good handshake that I’m learning has a magical way of communicating emotion. I miss the opportunity to just say “hey” in the normal weeks. I miss you!
I want you to know that our staff and leaders have had lots of ups and downs. We’ve tried a lot, failed a lot, and stumbled upon some things that worked. One thing has been really consistent though—each one of our leaders has been incredibly thoughtful and mindful of each person that makes up our CCC family.
We are now three weeks into live Gatherings. We’ve had almost exactly third of our pre-COVID attendance those weeks. We’ve tried to keep things simple as we essentially rebuild volunteer teams. It’s amazing to see simplicity draw out priority in our lives and in our worship of Jesus.
We’re constantly reminding ourselves as leaders to assume the best about each person in our CCC family while at the same time spurring one another on to good deeds and love (Hebrews 10:24). We want to walk the fine line between the grace of serving you through a variety of connection opportunities and the truth that real community happens face to face!
We want to let you know that we have been and still are actively working on plans and guidelines to re-engage with Community Kids and Community Groups. As soon as those plans are finalized, we will communicate them with you. Please pray for wisdom and discernment for our staff and Pastor/Elders as we seek the Lord for best practices.
In the meantime, we want to encourage you to join us if you are able and to lean into CCC Online if you are not. If you’re staying online, I want to encourage you to send an email to daniel@loveshelbyville.com—encourage him as he continues to serve you and ask him how you can help serve others. If you’re joining us live, don’t forget to jump in the welcome box this weekend and say hi to your family! Either way, let’s keep looking for Jesus, and let’s keep joining Him on the outside!
