Celebrating with Thomas & Van Morris!

Thomas and Van have been chasing Jesus for a while. I loved hearing how Thomas had been the one who started asking about going on mission trips! It's been a joy to catch a glimpse of all God has done in this family over the years - and now that includes what he's doing in Thomas and Van's life! Keep going guys! Keep joining Jesus..

A week of Crossings Camp in the books!

50+ teens made the journey to Crossings Camp at Jonathan Creek this past week! Camp for our teens and students is a unique opportunity to build community, give God space to shape their hearts and lives, and call them to Jesus. I believe all those things happened! We'll hear more from our students in the Gathering this coming weekend (June 15). You won't want to miss it! Related, we're inviting the families of these students to join us next weekend, so if you see a new face, make room for them in your row!

Grateful for Ron and a related resource I love

It's a good problem to have all the faithful leaders we do at Christ Community! Ron's one of them and I'm grateful for how the Lord used him yesterday. Seeing Jesus full of emotion is helpful as we learn to navigate our own. Ron's sermon pushed me back to a related resource on our emotions that I go to all the time. Check out Chip Dodd's 8 feelings chart.

John 15 and space for a changed soul

This week I missed a reading for a group I'm in. It was John 15. Pridefully, I told myself I'd read that chapter before and I could fake my way through the conversation. Things were going swimmingly until my friend began to share what the Spirit had highlighted for him about being pruned by God and remining in him. It was all words I knew, but I had missed the opportunity to be changed by them in my personal time with God. God used my friend to get the Word to me. I'm really grateful for that!

One of the great graces to me at Christ Community is that we do have many leaders that allow space for my soul to be shaped and changed by Jesus along the way as well. Space for pruning. Space for abiding in Christ. Space to create hope for even more fruitfulness.. in HIM.

An exciting announcement coming next weekend at Christ Community!

I'll dangle a carrot! Next weekend we're going to announce some exciting news for this fall at Christ Community. You should come!
