TOMM

He's Alive! And so is His church...

It was a great weekend together - and full of LIFE!

In the most somber and dark room of Good Friday, there was life as I sat and listened to men and women of a variety of ages read the story of the Crucifixion.

On Saturday morning there was life as kids spilled into the grass, collected eggs, and counted jelly beans.. all of that after hearing about how they might have eternal life in Jesus.

On Sunday.. family pictures, multiple generations of family coming together, singing about resurrection, hearing about resurrection, seeing the effects of the resurrection in people's lives - and even celebrating with a young lady who came and said, "I'm ready to give my life to Jesus!"

He. Is. Alive. And he's breathing life into His church. We are His!

Do it again next weekend? See you soon CCC!

A sending church needs to strive to be a really great place to come home to.

It was an unexpected joy to get to spend some time virtually meeting with our friends we sent to Kenya this morning! They, like many countries around the world, were recognizing the holiday Easter Monday. Let's bring that to the states!

But more than that, I was reminded of a thought I've had a lot recently: A sending church needs to strive to be a really great place to come home to.

As much as we love going and sending at CCC - and for good reason! - we must love being a healthy, strong, safe place to come home to for those who GO outside of our context. If you're a part of the CCC family, let's carry that responsibility together! Help make CCC a great place to come home to!

Covenant Meeting: April 19, 4 pm

Speaking of our Covenant Member family, we want you to mark an important date on your calendar for a meeting Sunday, April 19, at 4 pm. Covenant Members, we'll send you an email closer to time with more details. We're looking forward to being together, sharing more information about what's happening, where we sense God leading, and hearing from one another.

New Edition of the Outsider!

Yesterday we released the latest edition of "The Outsider" which is a great tool to keep up with many of the happenings at Christ Community as we move into spring and summer. Make sure and grab a copy if you haven't already! If you'd like to access it online, head to loveshelbyville.com/outsider.

A New Playlist and a New Song

As we move forward from Easter, we're engaging with a new playlist of songs for Sunday gatherings. It's new in the sense that it's different than our winter one, but there's a lot of familiar ones on there!

I want to really encourage our church to be listening in to these as we move towards our gatherings each week. When worship matters to us, we prepare for it! Yes our hearts, but also our minds and our bodies as well. Let's be getting these songs in our minds before we show up on Sundays and watch how it transforms our time of worship together!

Related, there's a new song on here that was just released on Good Friday called Christ to Every Nation. Y'all! I'm so excited about this one! Get it in your ears!
