Celebrating Charlotte Keene's Baptism!

The actual act of being immersed under the water and coming up out of the water takes a few seconds. But as Wes rightly pointed out, those few seconds remind us that the most pivotal and significant moment we have is giving our life to Jesus.

It's the little things..

I'm thankful we got to celebrate with Charlotte and her family and friends! And I can't wait to see how God continues to grow and send their family to make disciples.

Breakfast & Bending your knees

Charlotte's baptism was slight delayed by the cousin who missed breakfast and didn't bend his knees!

It's the little things!

I was so thankful for the multiple medical professionals who came over to his aid before EMS came and checked him out and cleared him.

Juniper Hills!

One of my favorite events of the year is Juniper Hills! Selfishly, I love getting to spend extended time with all the different ages of our church family; playing peek a boo with a baby, giving a toddler courage to jump in, heckling the teens about.. well about whatever topic seems fun to heckle them about, and of course the story sharing of adult conversation around the facility.

It's in opportunities like this where we get to notice the little things about one another.. what they enjoy, what motivates them, or the hopes they have. Those little things reflect who God made us to be, and I love getting to take them all in!

Until next time Juniper Hills.. thank you!

The power of TEAM

My Pacers team lost last night. In multiple ways. They lost the turnover margin. They lost the game. They lost the championship, and they lost their leader to a gruesome injury.

But they didn't lose their sense of team.

It was evident in the.. you guessed it.. little things. Stories of the injured star watching from the locker room. Or his halftime speech. It was evident as even when they had clearly lost the players were still giving great effort - a rarity in pro sports. Or perhaps the most powerful: watching Haliburton greet each player as they came off the floor while on crutches.

I don't question where my love for team leadership comes from - it's from team sports.

But I can also attest to the fact that team leadership in the church is exponentially more powerful to be a part of.

I got to experience that yesterday as pastor/elders came into pray early before the gathering. Or as the fruit of team meetings came out in Jeff's preaching. I got to be a part of that as multiple leaders rallied during the medical emergency. I got to soak that in as leaders served the worship team communion - not something I'm usually a part of! It was evident as I listened to the team of leaders preparing to go to Chile. TEAM was everywhere..

What makes all of those dynamic isn't what they accomplish, but rather the fact that those teams all care about one another in the process. That's the power of TEAM.

The beauty? It often propels the mission much further forward than we could have ever imagined on our own.

Do something insignificant today.

Jeff invited us to embrace insignificance in such a meaningul way through Luke 21! If you missed it, you can catch it here, but it made me want to do something insignicant today. To be present in a moment that seems like it doesn't matter.

Like we've been saying, it's the little things...
