Beginning May 10 (Mother’s Day) we’ll begin a summer journey through the first book of Psalms (Psalms 1-41) as we are reminded of God’s faithfulness despite our circumstances.
Psalms were the songs, the chants, the playlist of God’s people. These were the lyrics and lines that were "On Repeat" in the minds of those who believed in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: Yahweh. As we listen to the songs our spiritual ancestors sang in hope of the coming King, we on the other side of King Jesus can learn how to live with hope in his return. The Psalms are incredibly helpful to us as believers..
Psalms help us learn to pray.
Psalms help us learn to respond to truth.
Psalms help us learn to feel our feelings while not being mastered by them.
Psalms teach us what obedience looks like.
Psalms help us apply doctrine; they help our beliefs about God meet the realities of our humanity!
As we go through summer 2026, this series gives us a great opportunity to encourage people to Join Jesus. To be near him. To accept his leadership. To trust his faithfulness in the midst of hard times. In light of that, it becomes a prime opportunity to invite friends and neighbors who are going through hard times as well as call in those who have a hard time understanding what it is to seek God for direction in life.
Christ Community, may God's Word be the soundtrack of our summer in 2026!
