Community Kids: Following The Light

If you have visited our Next Gen space recently, you may have noticed the addition of new lighting! Not only do we have the regular overhead lights, we now have hanging lights and fun, colored lights, even some floor lamps! All of these lights serve the ultimate purpose of allowing us to see as we use the space in a variety of ways, whether it be Sunday mornings in Community Kids or Sunday evenings during Edge. Over the next couple of weeks, our kids will see God's Word as the light that allows us to see how we can live for God!

We will be going through the first few chapters of Joshua (1-4) to follow a new generation of Israelites as they prepare to return to the land of Canaan. God continued to remind His people of His promises and that all of His words are true. Joshua and the Israelites learned that they needed to remember God’s Word, trust it, and live in obedience to it if they were to conquer the Promised Land.

Through these chapters, we will emphasize this big picture truth, “The Bible is God’s Word that tells us what is true about God and ourselves” and learn this key passage from Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

Encourage your kids to memorize this Scripture. Ask your kids, “Why do people use lamps and lights? What do you think it means that God’s Word is a lamp and light?” Have a conversation about how God’s Word shows us the way we should go and helps us live for Him!

Join us on Sundays at 10am and follow along at home here!
