Community Kids are Growing in Faith

Updated: Nov 2, 2021

These past few weeks in Community Kids have been all about growing in our faith. We learned that growing in faith means knowing, believing, and following God more and more each day.

God’s Word teaches us how we can grow in our faith:

  • We can know God by spending time with Him everyday. (Luke 10:38-42)

  • When we believe God’s good news, sharing our faith with others can be done through our words and actions. (Acts 4:1-20)

  • Spending time with other Believers gives us strength to follow Jesus. (Mark 2:1-12)

  • We can follow Jesus’ example by using our gifts to serve others. (John 13:1-17; 34-15)

As our kids study these truths, they have been encouraged to act on them throughout the week. Many kids have shared how they are applying their faith in their everyday lives. We have been adding leaves to our own tree to show their commitments to growing in their faith.

Here’s how you can continue these conversations at home:

  • How does spending time with God show your love for Him? What did you learn when you spent time with God today?

  • Is there anyone you’d like to share God’s story with? Who and why?

  • Who is someone you can thank for helping you grow closer to Jesus? Who is someone you could help grow closer to Jesus?

  • What are some of the gifts that God has given you? What is one way you can use those gifts to serve others?

“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.” Colossians 2:6-7
