What are your go-to Christmas traditions? It’s amazing how different all of our Christmas celebrations can be, especially when you take into account how Christmas is celebrated all over the world. This season, we want to emphasize the true meaning of Christmas! In Community Kids, we will be reminded what a universal gift Jesus is, and how Jesus brought good news, joy, and peace on that very first Christmas so that the whole world could know God! Our memory verse for December is from Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those whom his favor rests.”
Week 1 (Dec. 4): Kids can rejoice that an angel foretold the birth of John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for Jesus. (Luke 1:5-20, 57-66; Malachi 3:1-4) Ask this: What good news about God can you share with others?
Week 2 (Dec. 11): Kids can rejoice that the angel foretold the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world. (Luke 1:26-55; Zephaniah 3:14-20) Ask this: How does Jesus bring joy to the world?
Week 3 (Dec. 18): Kids can rejoice that angels announced the birth of Jesus! (Luke 2:1-14; Micah 5:25a) Ask this: How does knowing Jesus bring you peace?
