Teaching Our Kids to Follow Jesus When It's Counter-Culture

What We’re Teaching This Month: Up is Down. Right is Left. Cold is Hot. That’s right (or should we say, wrong?), we are celebrating Opposite Day in Community Kids! This series will give kids a chance to talk about the counter-cultural things Jesus taught. It sounds impossible to believe that our struggles bring us closer to Jesus or that our enemies can teach us about love. However, these beautiful opposites remind us that a God that we can’t see is always with us and that it’s better to follow Jesus than our own instincts.

Discipleship Connection: Our kids worked diligently in January to memorize our monthly verse, and 32 of our elementary students were able to recite the Scripture (from John 14:6)!

Memorizing God’s Word is one way that we can equip our children with the truth and prepare them to apply it in their lives. We want to be able to recognize and know the voice of our Heavenly Father, so that we can respond to it!

Let’s encourage and celebrate these kids:
